Tears Are Not Enough, Part Deux: The Rage of Terry

Nettwerk Records Über manager Terry McBride is hot about scalpers jacking up the prices of his $100 benefit concert tickets.

"That really sucks because they are basically making a profit then upon other people's misery, which I think is just a terrible thing to do," says McBride to CBC Radio.

The concert, dubbed Tears Are Not Enough, Part Deux by no one is perhaps the best blast of publicity McBride has had for his roster of Great Canadian Artists^TM since Bare Naked Ladies' Stephen Page gave an open-mouthed kiss to NDP leader Jack Layton a week before last summer's federal election. The artists are donating their time at no charge. There are no estimates at the residual value of weeks of free publicity.

Sounding like he's been hanging too much with his star attraction Avril Lavigne, Terry summed up his horror over the Asian tsunami this way to the CBC: "This might be 100,000. I was like, 'Oh my God! This is so beyond anything.'"

Rumours about the special event on January 29th include Sarah McLachlan singing a duet with Governer General Adrienne Clarkson, and Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh, a veteran tambourine player, will be jamming on Bruce Cockburn's Wondering Where the Lions Are.
