Breaking the MSFT shackles

iMac

Hallelujah for the new iMacs. I went into Simply Computing and touched one. They had the new 20" and 24" iMacs side-by-side on display. Everyone, including myself, cooed over the finish, the bright screen, the fast frame rate and vivid monitor. The new iMovie is unbelievably sweet. I decided I want the 20" model, with the faster processor and 2Gb of RAM, and logged into www.apple.ca as soon as I got home. You can't beat free shipping. Now I just have to wait.

Yesterday afternoon I had a meeting in a Commercial Drive coffee shop. There were 6 computer users there, all Mac laptops. I read articles like this, and know that Vista is a headache I'm not willing to endure.

Our phasing out of the Windows platform hath begun. Smell the sweet, fresh air.

UPDATE: PC Mag chief editor tires of Windows Vista
